Yep- definitely my girls

As Chad is putting on his shirt that has the Chargers lightening bolt logo on:
Audree says "Cha-dirs- go,go,go,go!". Umm, you think we watch too much football?

I was telling Ashlynn that we were going to Jakey's birthday on Sunday and asked if she wanted to eat cake with him. Her reply was "Is there going to be frosting? I want frosting...and sprinkles". I think at her next birthday I'll just put a few candles in a bowl of frosting!

Girlyness

Okay- I definitely have some girly- girls. And of course since Ashlynn got her toes and fingers painted, Audree wanted in on the action too! She is a little mini-me following Ashlynn everywhere and doing everything that her big sister does. And Ashlynn loves being the boss so she just "instructs" Audree and and Audree follows and listens. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or good thing.

Pumpkin Patch

Chad had today off, thanks to his "furlough days" so we enjoyed it by going to the Pumpkin Patch. We went to the one we went to last year and I gues they got some complaints so they had to move all the kids stuff to another spot so we packed up the girls and went to the new location.

By far, their favorite thing to do was the pony ride. I only paid for Ashlynn to go on since I didn't think Audree would last. But Ashlynn was the only one so the lady picked up Audree and and put her on a pony. She loved it!

I love this picture!
They also enjoyed feeding the llama.

Riding on the quarter machines :)

My Little Princesses

Ashlynn went to her first princess party so of course we had to get her a princess dress. Forget Dora- it's now all about princesses!

Enjoying their cupcakes!
My other little princess enjoying her cupcake as well.

More Pictures from Sacramento

Here are some more pictures from up north. As you can tell, the girls had lots of fun with their Nana and Papa.

Only Nana and Papa would squeeze into a really tiny train for their grandkids. What did Mommy do? Sat on the bench and watched :)

Wedding #5

Last Wednesday the girls and I headed up to Sacramento for wedding #5 (Chad flew in on Friday). We got there a few days early so we could hang out with my folks and with my brother and his girlfriend. I hadn't seen him in over a year and it was so great to catch up. Ashlynn loved playing with him but Audree was never to sure- she is such a momma's girl. On Saturday, Chad and I headed up to Wine Country for the wedding, which was on Sunday. It was great to have two whole days to pretty much do whatever we wanted- no schedules (except for meals of course) and no whining kids! It was great. My cousin Peter and his wife Jessica got married at Fans Hahden Winery in Calistoga. It was so gorgeous up there but extremely hot. The ceremony was outside at 3pm. They handed out fans and parasols to everyone! I felt really bad for all the guys in suits and tux's. Luckily, the reception was in a cave, literally. Much cooler in there.

Overall, it was a great time, although I think next time I will fly up there instead of drive! I think I'm done with long driving trips for a while. And no, this is not our last wedding of the year. Wedding #6 will be in December!

On Thursday, we enjoyed some time out at the lake my dad is a member of. (We get a little spoiled going up there!)

My brother Kenny and his girlfriend CrisTrying to get a picture of the wedding party. My cousin is 6'4'' and his wife is 4'9"!

All ready to go the wedding
The cave! Very Cool.

More pictures to come I collect them all from everybody :)

Water and Fun

The other day, my friend and I decided to check out this cool park that had a little splash pad on it so the kids could play and get wet. Well, I think we were more excited about it than the kids. Audree got a little wet and then just wanted to be held and then Ashlynn just wanted to play on the play structure- go figure. We could have stayed home and did those things :) The two beautiful redheads in the background belong to my friend :)

Such a cute little girl
Audree thoroughly enjoying a pudding pop- and yes that's Ashlynn in the background with no pants on. Don't worry, we were in our backyard just hanging out with Haley.

More Conversations about God with a 3 year old

I just taught Ashlynn the song "I've gotta a River of Life" and this is the conversation we had in the car after she got done singing it:

Mommy- "Do you know why we say river of life?"
Ashlynn- no answer
Mommy- "We call Jesus our living water becauses he gives us life"
Ashlynn- "And Jesus gives me presents and pizza..."

Okay- so not the way I wanted the conversation to go but it's a start.

The other day I put a bandaid on my foot and as she was watching me do it she said "Mommy, do you have an owie?" "Yes, I do". Ashlynn says "I'll pray for you mommy. Dear Jesus please heal Mommy's foot and help it feel better".

As always we are trying to "Train up our children in the Lord". These conversations are always encouraging to me as Ashlynn especially is trying to figure out for herself who Jesus and why he loves her more than we can ever show her.

Comments that Make My Heart Melt

Today Ashlynn and I were talking in the car and I was telling her how we were going to stop at Taco Bell and that I would get her a burrito and quesadilla and she and Audree would split it. She got all excited and said "Like you and Miranda do at Costco". Very smart little girl (I go once a month with M to Costco and we split lots of things). Anyway, I continued driving and then Ashlynn exclaimed:

"Mommy, that's kindness!"
Mommy: "Yes it is"
Ashlynn: "That's one of the fruits of the spirik!!"
Mommy: "Sure is"

So we'll work out the details later, but my heart just melted when she said that. I mean, it shows that she's actually listening to me half the time and retaining it :)
